| Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has announced that he will return to Atletico Madrid on loan for another season. |
Courtois, who is first choice
goalkeeper for Belgium, has been on loan at Atleti for the past two
seasons since he moved to the Blues from Racing Genk, as Chelsea have
continued with Petr Cech in goal.
Speculation has long mounted on
when the young Belgian will replace Cech as Chelsea number one,
although there were some suggestions that the keeper had been offered to
Napoli as a makeweight in a deal for Edinson Cavani as his future at the club was called into question.
